DESPITE suffering from theft, substantial damages to property and losing class time during the recent disaster, the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) students association had offered to assist flood victims.
Next week the students association will donate some of the items they are currently collecting to the responsible authorities to be distributed to the flood victims.
The students said during such disaster its everyone’s responsibility to help those who were affected by the flash flooding.
“Solomon Islands is a christian country and therefore every student should take responsibility to help their brothers and sisters in need.”
Speaking on behalf of the students, SINU vice president Dorin Sanga said the student association will donate what they collect anytime next week to the responsible authorities.
He said when in times of disaster, it is everyone’s responsibility to help those who are affected.
“Despite the students facing other school commitment, they wish to donate as part of contribution towards the relief effort.”
He thanked all those who have donated something already.
