Students at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) have welcomed parliament’s endorsement of the Short Bus Routes report. Parliament endorsed the report, Thursday.
The report was produced by a parliamentary special select committee appointed to look into the issue.
Caroline Roka from SINU’s Institute of Natural Resources and Applied Science said this is a big leap towards addressing the issue.
“We students are victims of this short bus route,” she said.
“I’m hoping relevant authorities would act decisively on the recommendations made in the report so that the issue can be address once and for all.”
Ms Roka said she spent $10 everyday on bus far, which is very expensive for her as a student.
She urged the government and other authorities to quickly act on the report. – Lucio Sanga, SINU journalism student
