The Isabel community residing in Honiara came out in numbers yesterday to celebrate the Isabel 30th second appointed day in style at the national art gallery.
The celebration coincided with similar celebration held in Buala yesterday.
The occasion in Honiara was attended by honourable Nelson Kile, a member of provincial Assembly, and the deputy paramount chief Ambrose Bugotu, who was the chairperson of the Isabel council of chiefs.
Speaking to his people during the occasion Hon. Kile M on behalf of the Isabel provincial premier had urged the Isabel people to open up their land for development and assured to work closely with them to ensure the province attained its desired dreams.
“My people of Isabel, I urge you all to help the province by allowing your land for appropriate investment.
“The provincial government with its limited resources is prepared to assist with its administrative functions to ensure that such desired developments and dreams are attained.”
Paramount chief Bugotu of the Isabel house of chief, urged Isabel people to get themselves prepared for the challenges the Solomon Islands is going through.
“We at this time must keep alert! Be prepared to face the situations in this challenges times. Men and women, boys and girls, and most importantly, we leaders at all levels; we are in a very challenging era, which was right before our eyes.
“This is our great day, and we have to celebrate it to the full.”
Isabel province is celebrating its 30th second appointed day throughout this week in Buala.
The theme for the celebration is ‘Together in harmony, we build Isabel’.
The province gained its second appointed day in 2nd June 1984.
Yesterday was marked a public holiday in the province.
Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo also congratulated the premier and the people of Isabel for celebrating their 30th year as province and also for their continuous contribution to the economic development of this country.
