TEMOTU Province is proposing to establish an agriculture trade link with the Republic of Vanuatu.
The province has been liaising with the Republic of Vanuatu for trade link in fishing industry, and now they added another – copra.
Premier Fr Brown Beu confirmed this in his keynote address on his province’s secondary appointed day celebration in Lata, Tuesday.
“We are working on a trial trip to Vanuatu before the end of this year,” he said.
“To all copra farmers in and around Temotu, this is good news for you,” Fr Beu said.
“A particular man in Santo is asking us to supply his company with 250 tonnes of copra per week at US$240 per tonne,” he said.
Temotu Province is much closer to Vanuatu in terms of location.
