SOLOMON Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA) is conducting two months community awareness programme in east Guadalcanal.
This awareness was held in twelve communities around that region.
SIPPA program officer Ben Ango said the purpose of this program is to prevent diarrhoea outbreak in the communities.
Mr Ango said they encouraged children to wash their hands with soap before eating food.
“We teach children how to wash their hands properly with soap.”
He added that mothers are also advice to keep children war, boil drinking water and keeps food properly from flies.
He encouraged parents to teach their children every time to wash hands before eating.
Mr Ango said this similar program will also be conducted in west Guadalcanal later this year.
