People from Nhoge village and the nearby villages are still cautious about the outbreak disease that killed three children last month in Makira province.
Kirakira health promotion and environment team has initiated a clean-up campaign last week in Ghoge and surrounding villages to keep their environment clean from the disease.
According to reports reaching this paper Makira provincial health director and doctor in charge of Kirakira hospital Dr Arnold Nguduamae, he said there are no cases with meningococcal disease in the villages and at Kirakira hospital so far.
“Only patients with malaria are being treated at the villages”.
Mr Nguduamae said those villagers need to maintain cleanliness in their villages to prevent themselves from bacterial disease.
He said the team urges villagers to continue cleaning their environment and watch out for the signs of that disease.
Mr Nguduamae appeals to the medical teams to visit and work closely with Ghoge and the surrounding villages.
