SOLOMON Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) has expanded its services into Lungga area with the installation of power lines – an action welcomed by many.
As of Monday this week, SIEA started placing power lines on poles erected from the former Taj Mahal area into Lungga.
A resident in the area, Clement Boe said since SIEA placed the poles business houses also started developing their respective areas.
Mr Boe said even residential property owners are excited with SIEA’s move.
“We are so delighted with what SIEA is doing,” Mr Boe said.
“This area has been developing rapidly over the past years and today business houses are moving in to expand their businesses in the area as well.”
However, for SIEA this expansion is part of its ongoing development programmes in the country.
In May this year SIEA signed a major EPO contract with MAN Diesel and Turbo to carry out the construction of a new Power Station at the Lungga Complex
In June SIEA introduced cash power drive-thru; for fast and convenience cash power services. Customers can drive in, make a quick stop at the drive-thru window and purchase their cash power token drive out.
Future plans for improving cashiering services include mobile cash power payment as the authority strived to improve services to satisfy its customers.
