THE eight vaccination sites for the measles campaign swung into action yesterday.
The centres opened up to allow for the public, especially young children and adults around 30 years old, to get vaccinated to prevent them from measles attack.
The sites will open up from Monday to Friday over the next 20 days.
During weekends only Rove, Kukum, Mbokonavera and Mataniko clinics will accept the public for vaccination.
The age group of six months up to 30 years old are allowed to vaccinate.
Children who already receive their vaccination are encouraged to do so again due to the rising cases.
Health authorities early this week reported that measles cases are rising with more than 500 cases being recorded so far.
Two children have died last week as a result of the disease.
Measles is a highly infectious disease that is transmitted through droplets from the nose, mouth or throat of an infected person.
Symptoms include high fever, running nose, red eye and a rash on the face and body.
There is no treatment for measles, only medications can relief the symptom.
The health authorities had issued a strong call to come and get a free and safe vaccination to prevent them from measles.
