POLICE in Central Province on Wednesday uprooted more than 335 marijuana plantsand arrested a suspect believed to be the owner of the plants.
Provincial Police Commander, Central, Alfred Satu said the suspect has been on the run since last week.
However through intensive search and investigation with the help of the community the suspect was nabbed at Bohakado settlement close to Tulagi.
Mr Satu said his police officers have been successful with the help of community.
“The success of the arrest came through community support which is a good way of working together,” Mr Satu said.
He warned the public that police will not tolerate such bad behaviours and will arrest any law breaker.
He said to obtain money from illegal activities is not a good way.
“There are other activities we can engage to get money to sustain our daily demand. People should be aware of this and keep out from doing such illegal practise,” the PPC said.
Meanwhile,Mr Satu said last week they made five arrests which are minor incidents crime except for a shop break-inwhere police is still to arrest the suspects as investigation is progressing.
