A man has been arrested with his 54 marijuana plant being uprooted on Wednesday.
Police media unit said Police CID officers at Central Police Station uprooted the plants and charged the male suspect, following tip of from members of the public.
The dangerous cannabis have been farmed at the Panatina valley area, East Honiara.
The accused is now in custody for further investigation and he has been charged with cultivating and possession of Dangerous drugs.
Police praised members of the community for supporting police investigation which resulted in the arrest of the accused as it sends a strong warning message to the public, particularly those intending to get involved in such illegal activities.
“Police will not stop going after criminals of such nature in this country. People must understand that drugs are not allowed in this country and in our communities for one reason, it will destroy homes, families and societies alike which fuel criminal behaviour and increases anti social attitude in our communities,” Superintendent Balaga said.
“I call on members of the public to refrain from this illegal activity and help our police force reduce and spread the message of a drug free country.”
