Kirakira hospital has revealed 12 suspected cases of measles as of Wednesday in the province.
Doctor Arnold Nguduamae told the Solomon Star those cases are from nearby villages around Kirakira.
“The results of those cases are yet to be confirmed due to lack of testing facilities,” Mr Nguduamae said.
He added that only the signs and symptoms are being found on suspected patients.
“We plan to send one patient over to Honiara for testing.”
Mr Nguduamae said there enough vaccines that is now in stock at the hospital and vaccinations sites are locate at Waimapuru, north and west of Kirakira.
He said they encourage everyone between the ages of 6 months to 30 years to visit the nearest vaccination sites to receive vaccination.
