POLICE Commissioner Frank Prendergast on Thursday revealed that the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have a zero tolerance policy on family violence.
Mr Prendergast said that officers involved in such would face the harsh and most appropriate penalties enforced by the force, as well as the laws of the land.
He added that this was to show how the RSIPF is cracking down on family violence and the conduct of his officers.
Mr Prendergast said that Police are keeping close tabs on the matter, adding that those who are found guilty of involving in such will face the full force of the law.
He highlighted this in light of last week’s saddening incident, whereby a woman was allegedly murdered and hanged by her husband at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) campus at Kukum.
Mr Prendergast meanwhile also encouraged the public to report to police any family violence incidents which would require Police intervention.
