GOVERNMENT through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) has acknowledged Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) for its positive response to support the cruise ship tourism in the country.
The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary (PS) John Wasi made the acknowledgement after leading a delegation to Noro over the weekend.
During the visit the delegation met with the SIPA Noro acting manager Christopher Sade where he assured the delegation of port’s support towards the proposed cruise visit next year.
Mr Wasi who headed the delegation said, the SIPA –Noro manager acing was very supportive and encouraging.
“I would like to thank SIPA –Noro management for a positive response during our meeting over the weekend.
“This is what MCT and Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau SIVB would like to see companies and organisation do by working together with us to improve tourism arrival in the country since logging and mining are scaling down,” Mr Wasi said.
He said the Noro seaport management was very positive about the idea of cruise tourism in the country.
“Cruise tourism in the country between 2015-2016 should be looking bright since SIPA has been very supportive and is behind our plans.”
