The Western provincial executive took a sudden decision at the end of the midterm review of the Western Provincial Full Assembly meeting by appointing a new deputy premier.
Winding off the Sine die motion on Friday afternoon last week Hon. Robert Pae Kuve Premier of Western Province announced to the surprise of the sitting MPA’s that he has also made some important decisions and amendment within is government executive and that is by relieving immediately his second in command the deputy premier from the post.
Without much elaboration in sidelining his second in command, Premier Kuve briefly made remarks at the full assembly that he has and with full consultation with his other executive colleagues had unanimously taken the decision to relieve Brisbane Amatore from his post as the deputy premier by appointment Wayne Maepio MPA for ward 23 South Vangunu/Gatokae and Minister of Agriculture and fisheries as the new deputy premier.
Hon. Wayne Maepio will be sworn in as the new deputy premier at the provincial headquarters office today.
Hon. Brisbane Amatore will still be an executive member and is the current Minister of Transport and Public Utilities.
As part of the changes Bruce Herrick MPA for ward 4 North Rannonga, who is the Minister of Youth, women & Sports has been replaced since he had been sick for quite awhile.
He is being replaced by Hon. Carlos Kelsna MPA ward 8 Vela, he is also a board member of the Western Province investment corporation (WPIC).
