The 2014 tourism council meeting set down for this month in Honiara has been postponed to early next year.
Director of Ministry of Culture Barney Sivoro told the Solomon Star on Monday.
Mr Sivoro said ministry has postponed the 2014 tourism council meeting to early next year since six provincial government and national will go to the polls at the end of this year.
“We have decided to postpone the meeting because of the upcoming provincial elections and the national general election.
“This is to allow the new ministers of both the provincial and national government to be part of the meeting,” Mr Sivoro said.
The tourism council ministers meeting is an avenue where tourism ministers usually discuss some tourism related issues as well as making amendments to the tourism law of the country.
