The Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD) is facing court for allegedly failing to produce documents to the Ombudsman Office.
Selina Boso is facing one count of failure to furnish information or produce document as requested by the Ombudsman Office or any member of
staff acting on behalf of his (Ombudsman) duties.
She was charged contrary to section 20 (2) of the Ombudsman (Further Provisions) Act.
This was in relation to the allegation between May 29, and September 25, this year.
She allegedly failed to furnish information on Constituency Development Fund (CDF) as ‘lawfully’ requested by the Ombudsman and members of his staff.
She will turn up again in court on October 20. The adjournment yesterday was to give her time to engage a lawyer.
Crown Prosecutor Willy Vaiyu appeared on behalf of the State.
