Assistance commissioner for Honiara capital Gabriel Manelusi has issued strong appeal to the public to assist the police investigation team on the hit and run incident over the weekend.
The incident occurred opposite the OBBA shop at Ranadi late on Saturday evening.
Mr Manelusi told the paper that members of the public who witnessed the incident should report to the police any information related to the accident.
He said the help from the public is very import to mitigate such unwanted and unexpected happening.
“It is very import that public must be responsible and come to the police to report any information related to the incident,” Manelusi said.
He added drivers should also take greater care when driving along the road because things can be happening at any time.
Investigation is currently underway.
