EAST Kwaio outgoing Member of Parliament (MP), Stanley Festus Sofu has been called upon to fulfill a $20,000 pledge he made toward the development of a proposed Transit Conference Centre for the Atoifi Adventist hospital in his Constituency.
Outspoken former provincial member, Mambo Fangaria made the revelations following what he terms as Mr Sofu’s ignorance to fulfill his yearlong pledge toward the course of building the Transit Conference Centre.
“MrSofu made the pledge last year when the project’s organizing committee had initially sought funds to kick start the project.
“He said he would fulfill his pledge as it was a step forward in the development of Atoifi Hospital,” Mr Fangaria said.
He however added that up to now MrSofu has yet to fulfill his pledge, adding that such had showed Mr Sofu’s incompetence and ignorance toward supporting developments in his own constituency.
Mr Fangaria said that numerous attempts to try and get the money from Sofu had fallen on deaf ears.
“To date we have not heard anything positive from Mr Sofu. He has avoided the issue on several occasions also,” Mr Fangaria said.
He added that it was the Member for Parliament for Ranoggah/Simbo; Charles Sigoto that helped funded the project’s groundbreaking.
Mr Sofu could not be reached for comments on the matter.
