THE three (3) kilometer feeder road that was constructed for the Faumamanu market, East Kwara’ae, Malaita province was successfully completed thanks to their outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) Manasseh Maelanga.
The completion of the road last week has brought smiles to all the market vendors from the highlands and surrounding communities who usually sells their products at the market.
A recent visit by the Solomon Star to the area saw people traveling by trucks and even on bicycles to the market without any problem.
The road was used to be a footpath.
Apart from the road there had been development and changes taking place with schools and clinics.
A villager Joshua Niutoto said, this was a positive change in the area which has never been seen before.
“It cries and prayers have now been answered.
“This is what we have been waiting and hoping for it too long now.
“With this completion of the road and the help from our outgoing MP we believe this will help people from the highlands and seashore to travel on dry land with their produce to sell at the market. Students too will benefit from this new road.
“This is a real boost for us and we thank our outgoing MP,” he said.
The three (3) kilometer feeder road was constructed by Trades Transformation Company (TTC).
