Maneka launches campaign in North Guadalcanal
Intending candidate for North Guadalcanal Samson Maneka launched his campaign strategy on Monday at Pitukole, North Guadalcanal.
Mr Maneka outlined his campaign platform to the crowd who turned up.
“My aim is to focus on infrastructure, quality health services, empowering of families, agriculture, recognizing people with special need and churches.”
He came third in the 2006 National General Election for the North Guadalcanal seat.
Fono attracts huge crowd during campaign launch
Intending candidate for North West Guadalcanal constituency Albert Fono on Sunday attracted a huge gathering when he launched his campaign platform at Kakabona.
Mr Fono, brother of former politician the late Fred Fono is running against Bodo Detke.
He outlined the qualities of a leader and his aspiration for the people of the constituency during his speech.
“There are huge projects ear-marked for this constituency therefore it is very important that we set a high standard of leadership for our people.
“Let us not elect a leader who has no leadership qualities and vision for development of our constituency.”
His campaign strategy manual was blessed by a priest before it was launched.
Mr Fono resides at Kakabona for the past 20 years. He marries a local in the area.
Tran gets early attraction
AFTER the successful launching of his campaign platform on Saturday at Rove, Namson Tran, outgoing West Honiara MP conducted another launching at the White River School on Sunday.
The launching attracted another huge gathering who appreciated the many assistances rendered by the outgoing MP in the past four years.
A colourful magazine and browser containing achievements and aspirations of the outgoing MP were featured in the booklets which were distributed to people.
