More than 700 women in North West Guadalcanal met with their outgoing MP Bodo Dettke over the weekend.
During the meeting the 730 women expressed their concerns and grievances to their former MP.
West Guadalcanal Solomon Star stringer, John Toki, who witnessed the gathering, said some of the women told Dettke that there was no cooperation seen between him and their provincial member to drive development in the rural area.
Toki said the women also asked Dettke why he did not visit the rural areas to meet with them to look on issues of water, clinic, schools and sanitation.
He said the women also told Dettke to work with churches and raise their issues in Parliament.
However, Dettke has accepted the comments and concerns raised by the women.
“Sometimes his committee and chief did not work with him to visit the women.
“Also everything mentioned in Parliament in the name of rural development are not true because I have to use my own money to meet the needs in the constituency,” he said.
Dettke said the money received from Government’s funding was not enough to meet the needs in the constituency.
