World Vision Solomon Islands (WVSI) has a new Country Director. He is Janes Imanuel Ginting who arrived with his family last month (October).
Mr. Ginting has a ‘Master of Science degree in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries’ from the London School of Economics (UK) which was funded by the Chevening Scholarship.
He brings with him his passion and 14 years of development work and strategic management experiences with World Vision as well as with other organisations (AusAID, World Bank).
He moved to WVSI from his previous post as Regional Strategy Director for World Vision Middle East and Eastern Europe region based in Cyprus.
Prior to that, Janes has worked in Thailand and Indonesia beginning his career with World Vision Indonesia back then in 1999.
“I have heard many good things about Solomon Islands and especially the good work of WVSI, thanks to the leadership of my predecessor, Dr Andrew Catford who had worked hard with the team in the last five years establishing strong programme and funding foundations as well as positive reputation among Solomon Islands Government (SIG), donors and other civil society organisations,” said Mr. Ginting.
“I am humbled to build on these many positive legacies and excited to move forward delivering many more meaningful results for the children and communities of Solomon Islands.”
Mr. Ginting looks forward to working closely together with the SIG ministries, donor agencies and other civil society organisation to build a prosperous Solomon Islands.
World Vision Solomon Islands staff and partners welcome Mr Ginting and his family to Solomon Islands and congratulate him on the new role as Country Director for WVSI.
