Trial on the murder of the young diplomat who was murdered outside of the Honiara Central Market in 2012 will continue today, in the High Court.
The court will be hearing the testimony of the Crown’s fourth witness.
This was in relation to the murder trial against Cecil Manu, Simon Peter Delemani and Peter Diau, all from Malaita.
The fourth accused, John Tii, has already pleaded guilty to murder.
The deceased, Simon Fuo’o was serving with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time of the alleged incident.
Police alleged the accused men attacked Simon Fuo’o with knives and hook when he came out of his vehicle to confront a group of men who set up a road block.
This was on the early hours of April 21, 2012 when Fuo’o was returning home with his friends after a night out.
Prosecution alleged the accused inflicted multiple wounds his head, mouth, and back of which he died of bleeding from the wounds.
A security guard at the Central Market was also a victim of stabbing during the killing.
He had already given his evidence in court at the start of the trial last week.
Sarah Karani, Nigel Galo, George Gray, and Gina Nott of the Public Solicitor’s Office are representing the accused.
Crown Prosecutor Miriam Manata and the Director of Public Prosecutions Ronald Bei Talasasa represent the State.
