ONE of the female losing constants in Malaita Province Rosie Anilabata says that culture was her only barrier to win the last week’s election.
The People Alliance Party (PAP) candidate was contesting the Central Kwara’ae seat and joint other fifteen candidates that lost the seat to Jackson Fiulaua.
In an interview with Anilabata in Auki yesterday, she said her only barrier to win the election was culture.
“Central Kwara’ae people believe that females are not capable for taking up such post to lead them.
“But this is an old belief where men will always be the leaders,” Mrs Anilabata added.
She said that apart from culture there is another hidden enticing culture that lured voters at the last minute.
Meanwhile she congratulated the winning candidate Jackson Fiulaua following his victory.
She added that her time for politics is over for Central Kwara’ae people.
“I will turn my focus on my own business from now and onwards.”
During last week’s election, Anilabata was able to pull 40 votes that placed her in the fourteen positions.
About 17 candidates contested the seat.
