A total of 1.7 million European last week viewed a film of a project done in Solomon Islands last year.
A project called ‘lost in the swells’ is carried out by three Frenchmen in parts of Solomon Islands for three months.
The Frenchmen from Brittany, Aurélien Jacob (prominent surfer) Ronan Gladu (cameraman) and Ewen Le Goff (surfing instructor) purposely set off on a small eco-design boat for technical testing to see if it resists humid waters, a quest to search new surfing spots and explore the natural sea environment in Solomon Islands.
Previously, the Sunday Star conducted an exclusive interview with the Frenchmen regarding the nature of their project in Buala station late October 2013.
Crew choreographer Ronan in an email sent to this paper said their YouTube video is watched 20, 000 times each, which recorded 260, 000 total viewers in one month.
Lost in the Swell has been two years in the making. The entire first season is aired by Thalassa channel on 15th October and second season of their web series on October 17th.
As labelled on the surfing media blink website “Lost in the Swell Might Be the Best Surf Travel Series Ever Made”.
“The film on national television did quite well”, as described by most when linking comments under the YouTube video uploads.
“Editing the films for TV One and Web series took four months which is very long and hard work for us,” admitted Ronan.
The Frenchman then stated the benefit of the project for Solomon Islands in the near future.
It put Solomon Islands on the map for French and Europeans to choose as their tourist destination for surfing with incredible waves and people.
