HONIARA Hotel camp’s planned trip to Papua New Guinea (PNG) has been cancelled again for the third time.
The Solomon Star was notified that the trip was called off due to reports of instability within the camp.
It was further revealed there are certain Members within the Honiara Hotel Camp who were said to have switched camps. This was reported to be one of the main reasons for the cancellation.
A check with Solomon Airlines on Wednesday had confirmed the cancellation.
One insider at the Honiara Hotel camp also confirmed they will not be going due to reasons they need to confirm and finalise all documentation before they depart.
The Solomon Star is aware that there is a more serious lobbying now going on between the camps yesterday.
The Mendana camp has come under some pressure when they lost few of their members over the days to Honiara Hotel group.
This paper uncovered that even a former Prime Minister is trying to lobby some of the new MPs at the Honiara Hotel camp to join the Mendana camp.
Reports said the situation continues to be tense as both camps attempt to keep their solidarity intact whilst lobbying for more members is progressing.
Meanwhile, a reliable source said the camp at Honiara Hotel will travel to Vanuatu instead if arrangements fall in place.
However, the time of their charter flight is yet to be confirmed as even airline staff do not know of the day and time.
Arrangements are said to have been done directly with airline bosses.
