TWO security firms that provided security at Chinatown area have acknowledged the behaviour of the public in yesterday’s election of the Prime Minister which saw Manasseh Sogavare being elected into the top job.
Blake Premier Guards and Lion Heart are being engaged to provide security at Chinatown area prior to national general election last month.
Yesterday they were on standby at the Chinatown area.
Director of the Blake Premier Guards security firm Wilfred Akao said the public have behaved well and accepted the result with much celebration.
He thanked his officers for their service since last month for keeping an eye on the Chinatown area.
Blake Premier Guide security officer Jacob Anisikao also thanked the public for their good behaviour and respect during yesterday’s election.
He said since their presence at the area, there were little criminal activities happening.
The two firms will continue with their security service until next year.
In April 2006, Chinatown was torched after public expressed their anger over the result after Snyder Rini was elected as Prime Minister.
Since then police have stepped security around the city during the election of any Prime Minister.
