ONE of the coalition partners of the parliamentary Opposition, Solomon Islands Party for Rural Advancement (SIPRA), has a new parliamentary wing leader.
He is the Member of Parliament for Savo/ Russels, Dickson Mua.
Mr Mua replaces MP for East Malaita, Manasseh Maelanga, who resigned from the party earlier to become the leader of the Independent Group.
During a brief party meeting last week, President of SIPRA and former Prime Minister, Gordon Darcy Lilo, reiterated the confidence and trust of the party executive on Mr Mua to lead the party forward.
Mr Lilo urged Mr Mua to continue to articulate well the policies of the party and the former PM also call on party executive to render support to the new parliamentary wing leader.
Mr Mua is currently serving his second term in parliament after successfully retaining his seat in the last national general election.
Two other parliamentary members of SIPRA are former minister of Rural Development, Lional Alex and former Minister of Health and Medical Services, Charles Sigoto.
SIPRA was co-founded by former MPs Job Dudley Tausinga and Gordon Darcy Lilo both of whom have lost their respective seats in the recent national election.
The party was formed in 2006 and since then it produced a Prime Minister and a deputy Prime Minister.
