HEAVY rain alert remained in force for Choiseul, Isabel, and Malaita provinces.
The Weather office issued the alert on Friday.
It said the situation was due to a trough that lies over the Solomon Islands.
Associated cloud and rain are expected to affect the northern parts of Solomon Islands within the next 24 to 48 hours,” the office said..
“Such localised heavy rain showers may lead to flash flooding over communities living close to large rivers, streams and low lying areas,” it said.
