Guadalcanal Premier Bartholomew Vavanga calls on the Sogavare-led Democratic Coalition ofr Change (DCC) government to help them implement their economic development aspirations.
Mr Vavanga made call yesterday after his executive members took their oaths as provincial ministers.
He said his executive will work closely with the national government to ensure the province’s development plans are realised.
“My government will be focusing on priorities areas such as health, education and infrastructures.
“These are areas I appealed to the national government to step and assist in terms of resources that are necessary for us to implement projects.”
The premier added that the national government must revisit the commission of inquiry into land dealings and abandoned properties on Guadalcanal.
“It is imperative that land dealings on Guadalcanal is addressed to ensure there is lasting peace in this nation.
“I call on the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare who is well versed with this issue, to tackle it strategically.”
Present at the sworn in ceremony were senior officers of the Guadalcanal provincial government and backbenchers.
