A CHIEF from Dariowne village in East Kwara’ae, Malaita Province welcomes the assured commitment made by the national government in reinvigorating stalled projects in Malaita.
William Ko’oru’u said the Democratic Coalition for Change Government must be supported in its commitment to move the proposed developments forward.
Mr Ko’oru’u said a clear manifestation of the commitment was the announcement of palm oil seedlings for Aluta and Waisisi proposed palm oil projects.
“It seems DCC is serious in ensuring those development projects lift off.”
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestook (MAL) this week announced that 50,000 seedlings for Aluta and Aaisisi oil palm plantations are ready and are only awaiting the passing of the budget.
Mr Ko’oru’u said such is the kind of commitment from both the national and provincial governments landowners want to see.
“Landowners do not want to see half cooked projects. Commitment in taking projects to the end is what gives them hope and willingness to genuinely participate in developments.”
He thanked the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock and urged him to keep pushing for the projects to roll.
“We the landowners are behind you and are looking forward to meeting with you.”
The chief urged Member of Parliament for east Malaita constituency Manassah Maelanga and provincial ward member for ward 15 Martine Aniana to support the DCC government and make sure the Aluta Basin palm oil project kick off this year.
