Western Province intends to conduct public awareness on the roles of its clerk this year.
The province’s newly appointed clerk Gideon Tuke confirmed this to the Sunday Star.
Tuke said one of the first things he’s going to do is raise awareness about his role to the people.
“Many people in the province do not fully understand the roles and responsibilities of the clerk because previous holders of this position have not enlightened the public about their roles,” he said.
“This year since I was appointed the new provincial clerk, and so one of my first tasks is to ensure the public know what my roles are.”
He said the clerk provides an important link between the provincial government and its people.
Tuke said the awareness will be made through the media, pamphlets, and public talks.
