AN AUKI resident has appealed to business houses and the public to help maintain cleanliness in Auki, Malaita Province by offering their resources and time.
Peter Mana said this after offering his machine and time to clean up a pile of rubbish near the Auki market on Saturday.
Mr Mana said, that its important that business people must work closely with provincial government to address such issues in Auki town.
He also want to see local and Chinese business people taking the initiative to clean up the town through their own initiative.
On Saturday Mr Mana came out with his machine to remove piles of rubbish left by vendors in front of Auki market.
He said, he offered his time and resource to remove those rubbish piles just to show how he loves Auki.
“This is my town and I want to see cleanliness being maintained at all times. We should not wait for responsible authorities to do it for us. But we should also take the initiative to do something freely for the town.”
