LATA Provincial Police along with the Temotu Provincial Disaster Management Office have worked in partnership with Honiara NDMO officers to monitor the bad weather currently affecting the country.
Lata acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Reginald Kava said, the team as deployed yesterday to visit Reef Islands and Vanikoro to conduct assessment.
Mr Kava said the assessment will be conducted at sites that are really affected by the cyclone PAM last week.
“The team will survey the villages to see what they really needed at the moment so they can get some supplies from NDMO.”
He said after the team completes their tour they will return back with a report that compiled after the tour to be submitted to National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) for some relief assistance.
