About 300 plots of land are available at the April Hill in East Honiara.
This was revealed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Survey Stanley Wale yesterday when appearing before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
He said, the new area is already being occupied by victims and survivors of the 2014 April flash flood in Honiara.
However, those currently residing on the area are expected to apply for a title as well as part of the process to legally own the plots.
Mr Wale said, the Ministry wants to ensure April Hill is being properly developed inorder to have access to basic services such as road.
Funds have already been allocated to construct a new road so that other development can take place.
