A PRE-TRIAL conference will be held on 24 April on the case of the Member of Parliament for East Guadalcanal Bradley Tovosia and former Guadalcanal Premier Anthony Veke.
The pre-trial date was fixed yesterday after Tovosia and Veke entered not guilty pleas to the amended charges of abuse of office and attempted abuse of office against them.
The amended charges are that of four counts of abuse of office and seven counts of attempted abuse of office.
Both are jointly charged and are facing the same number of charges.
These were all relates to the allegation in July 2010 when Tovosia was working with the Guadalcanal Provincial Assembly and Veke as the Finance Minister for the Province.
After taking their pleas, Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Kouhota fixed the pre-trial conference date and extended bails for both accused.
Tovosia is represented by NuataliTongarutu of ANT Legal Service while Anderson Kesaka of DNS & Partners is representing Veke.
Legal adviser of Police Prosecution, Andie Driu, appeared for the state.
