NINE (9) agriculture students under the South Pacific Commission (SPC) Youth Program in Choiseul Province are kicking off their three months practical with the Zainatina farm in Burns Creek, east Honiara on Wednesday.
The students once joined the SPC Youth Program carried out in the Choiseul Province last year.
Pita Kabolo, supervisor of Zainatina organic farm told Solomon Star during a visit to the farm, the students started off their three months agriculture practical on Tuesday.
“These agriculture students once join the SPC youth program being carried out in Choiseul province last year.
“They’ll undertake their three months practical will complete it at the end of June,” Mr Kabolo said.
He said the students will be going through a lot of outdoor practical work during their three months practical.
“These students will be with us until end of June where their practical should finish and return back in Choiseul, they’ll be working under our supervisions and as time goes they should work on their own.
“Working will be easy for them here and should be given very little supervision because this farm is an organic farm unlike other farm that are dealing with fertilizers,” Mr Kabolo said.
Meanwhile Mr Kabolo thanked the SPC youth program for such an initiative to support youths in the country.
