A MALE suspect has been arrested and charged after the vehicle he was driving hit a public bus at the Lawson Tama bus stand on Tuesday night.
According to the Commissioner of Police Frank Prendergast, the suspect is charged with two counts under the Traffic Act.
“We arrested a male suspect over that incident and the suspect was charged with two counts under the traffic Act,” he said.
“One for careless driving and one for driving under the influence of liquor,” Mr Prendergast said.
The Commissioner said, he cannot say too much on this incident because the matter is now before court but he wanted to urge everyone not to drink and drive.
“I want to urge people to be careful when driving and I want to ask everyone not to exercise drinking and driving because it puts everyone’s live in danger,” he highlighted.
The suspect is released on bail and will appear in court on the 5th of May.
