A NUMBER of fish vendors are still selling the salt fish at the Central Market despite a ban being imposed by the market management and the Honiara City Council.
The ban which restricts vendors from selling salt fish at the market was agreed upon this week following a meeting.
Market Master Saxson Ofata early this week said, sales of salt fish would be banned once the main market reopens.
A visit to the fish market by the Solomon Star yesterday saw quiet a number of vendors still selling their fish there.
A woman who was interviewed said, the Law Enforcement officers have not done anything when they saw her selling the banned item.
“I am still selling my salt fish here, I don’t know what happened to the ban,” she told this paper yesterday.
When contacted yesterday for comments, Mr Ofata said, he won’t comments as he was in a meeting and will pass on his response to the Honiara City Council’s media officer in a form of press release.
