THE court has issued a warrant of arrest for a young man who failed to turn up for his sentence after pleading guilty to marijuana possession.
Steward Lesly Kigo entered his guilty plea to the charge of one count of in possession of dangerous drug on Monday without a lawyer.
After taking his plea, Magistrate Augustine Aulanga told the accused to wait for his sentencing at 1.30pm because another magistrate will use the court room to hear cases after him.
Kigo, however, failed to turn up again in the afternoon for his sentence and a warrant of arrest has been issued for him.
Police found him with a plastic bag containing dried marijuana plants on 9 April 2015 at the Point Cruz Wharf, Honiara.
The court will be reviewing his warrant of arrest on 18 May.
This is to check whether or not police have executed the warrant of arrest.
