MORE time has been given for a man who allegedly attacked his brother early last month at Marau Sound, East Guadalcanal, to secure a lawyer.
Ronald Regan Billy is still without a lawyer since he was remanded in custody last month.
He appeared in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was further remanded in custody to 6 May.
This is to give time for him to seek a lawyer from the Public Solicitor’s Office.
Billy is facing one count of one count of acts intend to cause grievous harm in relation to the incident on 4 March 2015 at Purakiki Village at Marau Sound.
The alleged victim was trying to stop Billy setting fire to his own home when he attacked him.
He allegedly attacked the alleged victim with a stick and jumped on him punching his face and other parts of his body until he was unconscious.
According to the allegation Billy argued with his wife and then came out of his house trying to set fire to his house.
The alleged victim saw this, and tried to stop Billy to burn down his house when he allegedly attacked him.
With the help of their relatives, the alleged victim regained his conscious and was taken to the Medical Centre at Marau Clinic.
The alleged victim had problem with moving his neck and was advised by medical staff at the clinic to be transported to the National Referral Hospital to be examined by a medical doctor.
Police Prosecutor Tebakota Iete appeared for the State on his matter yesterday.
