To have a website with content that is readily available is very important for clients to learn about the Ministry and its roles in the country says the Permanent Secretary of Women ,Youth and Children’s’ affair Ethel Sigimanu during the launching of the ministry’s new official website on Wednesday.
The launching of the new official website saw the Ministry has its first official website since the establishment of the Ministry some years back.
Ms Sigimanu said, their Ministry is a small Ministry with a relatively small budget but have huge responsibility to fulfil in the country.
With that she believes that having a website of its own is a way forward as it creates an avenue where the ministry can disseminates useful information regarding the ministry to the general public and its stake holders.
“The website presents the perfect opportunity for my Ministry to communicate, engage and interact with our clients as we work for the future that recognizes the value of the nation’s women, youth and children and creates an environment in which they can equally contribute to the development of Solomon Islands,” she said.
“The launching of the website will set up our effort to promote and advance our commitment to address the ever changing needs and interests of our women, youth and children,” she added.
She said, the main reason for the Ministry to have a website on its own is to allow people or the public to know about the ministry and the services it offers.
She added that for those who did their research on the ministry and wishes to get first hand information about the Ministry and its Affairs will now access the information online.
The website will not only give the ministry credibility but will also help to give the impression that ministry is growing she said.
She said, that the website demonstrates the importance of partnership where it reflects the positive government directives for the people.
Not only that but the website also represents wonderful opportunity where we all have to work together by seeking solution for issues faced by the ministry today, she added.
