GOVERNMENT Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources has assisted seaweed farmers in the Lau/Mbaelelea constituency in North Malaita, Malaita province
The assistance was made possible through their provincial ward member Fred Wai.
The assistance included nets, plastics and ropes for each seaweed farmers that are living along the coastal areas in the constituency.
Wai said, the local farmers were happy to receive the materials and it would help them a lot in managing their project.
He said, seaweed farming is one of the major projects that will benefit the people in the constituency.
MrWai thanked the Ministry for their kind assistance towards the farmers.
“Such assistance will boost the interest of farmers in seaweed farming and improve on their project.
He also thanked the local farmers for working together with him and the Ministry for making all things possible.
