Tribal land owners of Luhuli land of Mono Islands, in the Western Province described Michael Kalaluma’s continue media attacks on them as hypocrisy.
They urged him to go back to Short land to settle allegations he keep preaching on the media about their land.
Speaking to this paper John Nauva said, the allegations were actually baseless.
“Do you think you owned the whole Islands? Arguing in the media will never solve a thing. Let’s do it in our own way and culture to see who the rightful land owner was.
“Mono land as we all know is not owned by just one group, but is customarily owned by several tribes living on Mono, blocked up into parcel.
“Mr Kalanuma, what right have you got on other people’s private land to continually put pressure on the government to have the operation halted and ceased?
“The Asian logger whom you have also accused was only invited by us, the resource owners of Luhuli land to carry out Agro-forest development.
“You actually misled the public.
“Operation has to be halted till now because of the action taken by your supporters upon your advice; your action only reflects ignorant and jealousy attitude minded person.”
“Mr Kalanuma, what tangible development have you initiated in the last four years when you’re the CDO for Short lands constituency? Mr Nauva Questioned.
News items aired through SIBC by Mr Kalanuma stated that he preferred timber rights hearing for Mono in order to determine Mono land.
But Mr Nauva said “A notice for timber rights hearing was put up by the provincial executive upon the application from our group the true resource owners but Kalanuma’s supporters tore it down the notice claiming that that they’re not happy with the hearing.
