World blood donor day will be celebrated in Honiara on Monday with a number of activities.
Speaking to the media yesterday, the head of medical laboratory Alfred Dofai said the event will be celebrated on the theme “Thank You for Saving My Life” highlighting the appreciation of those who have been saved by blood donors.
The event will highlight three significant areas relating to blood donation.
* To raise awareness on the importance of blood donation where currently most people in the country over looked it and didn’t realize its importance.
* To thank those who voluntary donate bloods to saves lives.
* To strengthen the commitments through blood donation participation.
The event will be held at theSMI area at Town Ground starting at 9am in the morning.
The key note speaker will be the Minster of Health and Medical Services AngikimuaTautaiKaituu.
The public is encouraged to be part of the event.
