SOLOMON Islands National Teachers Association (SINTA) is expected to announce its new general secretary (GS) this week.
A source close to the paper revealed this yesterday saying someone had been appointed and will be formally announced soon.
The post was advertised which attracted a lot of applicants.
The source said, a number of people who have been shortlisted underwent their interview and the successful candidate will be made known this week.
The source believes most of the teachers will welcome the result.
SINTA is an organisation formed to look after teachers’ welfare in the country.
