THE court will sentence a man facing numerous criminal offences dating back to 2008 to 2013, next week.
Max Gura faces a total of 12 charges in which he entered guilty pleas to all of them.
The charges are three counts of common assault, four counts of demanding money with menaces, malicious damage, resisting arrest, drunk & disorderly, intimidation and store break-in.
The offences occurred on various dates and months in 2008, 2009 and in 2013 at different locations in Honiara to different victims.
Prosecution had already filed its sentencing submissions while the defence counsel had just tendered its sentencing submissions to the court yesterday.
Principal Magistrate Fatima Taeburi said she does not encourage counsels to rely on their written submissions.
She wants prosecution and the defence counsels to orally present their submissions.
However, she said since the accused has been in custody for two years now, she will hand down her sentence this Friday.
The Public Solicitor’s Office is representing the accused while the Police Prosecution appeared for the state.
