Solomon Islands National University (SINU) is planning to increase Information Communication Technology (ICT) access to its students by installing Wi-Fi hotspots for Kukum, Ranadi and Panatina Campuses.
The SINU Vice Chancellor Dr. Glynn Galo made this announcement yesterday during the opening of the SINU computer labs at Kukum Campus.
He said, the aim behind this is to enable a 24 hours remote on-campus access via laptop, smart phones or tablet which will provide all SINU staff and students with email accounts.
Dr.Galo said, they are currently working under a contract with Technology One to improve the University Student Management System and to introduce the SINUNet to enable a 24hours remote online access anywhere in the country and internationally.
This is good news for the national institute as it strives to cope up with the level of ICT that is widely used in other overseas institution today, it was revealed.
