They were not consulted about reshuffling
CABINET ministers who have been reshuffled last week are unhappy about their removal.
Sources close to ministers concerned told the Solomon Star the recent swapping of portfolios does not go down well with the few ministers.
Those reshuffled include former Minister for Forestry; Bodo Dettke had been reshuffled as the new Minister for Tourism. He swaps with Bartholomew Parapolo, MP for Gela constituency.
Former Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Augustine Auga was swapped with former Minister for Provincial Government, Dudley Kopu while former Minister for Rural Development, Freda Tuki becomes the Minister for Youth and Women Affairs.
The former Minister for Youth and Women Affairs Jason Tanangada takes up his new portfolio as the new Minister for Rural Development.
Of the six, only three have taken their oaths of loyalty and allegiance when they were sworn in at Government House last week.
One source close to former minister of Agriculture, Augustine Auga said the minister was not at all happy with the reshuffle.
The source says the exercise was pushed by other cabinet ministers who felt their personal interests have been undermined by the concerned ministers.
The source alleged the former Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Mr Auga was removed because of his involvement in allowing a cattle project earmarked for Western Province.
The source said the person identified as the implementer of the cattle project, had faced strong opposition since Minister Auga’s removal.
Meanwhile, the source alleged the new Minister for Youth and Women Affairs, Freda Tuki had also registered her disappointment over her removal from her former portfolio.
The source alleged Ms. Tuki had deplored her removal as not proper since she was not informed prior to her new posting to the Ministry Women, Youth and Family Affairs from the Ministry of Rural Development.
Ms. Tuki who hailed from the traditional chiefly island of Tikopia, Temotu Province, was reported as saying she would make up her final decision whether to accept her new assigned portfolio or not when she arrives in Honiara.
Her removal was made in her absence when she was away in her constituency.
Mr Dettke, who is now the Tourism minister, earlier told the Solomon Star certain people are behind his removal.
He has yet to take his oath of allegiance.
