Member of Parliament for Hograno/Havulei/Kia Constituency and the Leader of Opposition, Jeremiah Manele has been hailed a true leader.
Constituents made mention of this during his recent constituency tour to deliver some of the constituency projects.
Projects include a three ton truck for Kolotubi and surrounding communities and a tractor for Kholaero Rural Training Centre under transportation project, water tanks under water and sanitation project for communities in Hograno and a Lucas sawmill for the constituency housing scheme.
Kolotubi chief, Hopson Athimei said, their community’s longing to have a truck to provide transportation service has been their desire for years.
Attempts have been done but were unfortunate with the cost of such investment especially for those at the rural communities is too expensive, said chief Athimei.
“Kolotubi village and the surrounding communities like many other communities around the country shares many similarities in tackling hardship and transportation difficulties is one of them.
“The decision to purchase this three ton truck by you as our leader indicates the true leader who is blessed with wisdom and is genuine to promote and enhance facilitate development of the rural people.”
He added despite heavy criticism and objection from certain individuals, your decision to invest on this project again reflects your commitment towards Kolotubi community and the people of Hograno district at large.
This truck will greatly assist the people of Kolotubi, the surrounding communities and the public, improving movement of goods and services for small rural business enterprises to and from Kaevanga Port, said the chief.
Principle of Kholaero RTC, Oliver Manepitu said, the tractor received is a step forward for the training centre.
“It is a stepping stone to transportation accessibility and a new chapter for the training centre’s history.
“More so it will boost up the morality of the teachers and trainees in our development goals, as transportation has been one of those challenges faced for years.”
